Cannabis Formulation Science & Disease Treatment

The current pharmacological treatments for patients’ illnesses, especially given the significant, adverse side effects of pain management, neurological deteriorations, and PTSD therapies, may cause more harm to the patient than the conditions they are supposed to treat. Medical Cannabis and Hemp derivatives, just like their pharmaceutical counterparts, are not a magic pill to treat all ailments. Thus, a formulation carefully engineered in clean facilities and backed by in-depth research provides the most effective product to relieve patients’ symptoms.

CBD is the active chemical found within the Hemp plant, which falls under the Cannabis family. CBD is the non-psychoactive component of the Cannabis plant with a myriad of pharmacological attributes. Similarly, Marijuana also falls under the Cannabis family, but Marijuana and Hemp are widely different in their biological makeup, as Marijuana’s active chemical is THC, which is generally known to induce psychoactive effects. However, THC is also a cannabidiol, which research also suggests that it, in combination with other CBDs, may help treat additional ailments and increase the effectiveness of specific CBD therapies.

Research has determined that natural Cannabis plant derivatives have various favorable medicinal properties. Given State-based legalization of medical Cannabis and its derivatives, such as CBD oils[1], patients can access an alternative treatment for several chronic illness symptoms, such as:

  • Arthritis Inflammation and pain management;
  • Alzheimer and Dementia inflammation and brain cell decline;
  • Muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis (MS);
  • Nausea from cancer chemotherapy;
  • Wasting Syndrome, poor appetite and weight loss caused by chronic illness, such as HIV or Nerve Pain;
  • Various Seizures Disorders;
  • Crohn’s disease;
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Acute Anxiety-Depression.

Researched CBD formulations have shown to be effective in:

  • Arthritis Inflammation;

  • Pain management;

  • Alzheimer and Dementia inflammation;

  •  Brain cell decline;

  • Muscle spasms caused (MS);

  • Nausea (chemotherapy);

  • Wasting Syndrome;

  • Seizures Disorders;

  • Crohn’s disease;

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Acute Anxiety-Depression.

Adopted from  Native American Culture, we have incorporated the Medicine wheel to simply dipict how various CBD formulations combat patent symptoms and disease.

Using the Medicine Wheel, beginning from the innermost circle, depicts the patient’s general complaint (Target Disorder), followed by the next ring that depicts the CBD combinations found most effective in the “Target Disorders” treatment. The outermost ring denotes the ultimate symptoms or diagnosis.

Given its past successes as a holistic therapy with less adverse effects than its pharmaceutical counterparts, the use of CBD for several conditions such as epilepsy and chronic pain has been assimilated in treatment guidelines in many countries, including Israel and the United States. Though additional research still needs to be conducted in both dosage, duration, delivery methodologies, and long-term usage, the effectiveness of certain CBD combinations in targeting specific ailments has been identified through clinical studies and patient reporting.

Page Reference – [1] CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of the Cannabis plant (Marijuana).
